Russell D. Marshall, Ed.D
Dr. Russell
Marshall has experience in all levels of education. He has served
as a superintendent, assistant superintendent, principal, assistant
principal and classroom teacher. He is a former associate professor
of educational leadership and Coordinator of the Superintendent
Certification Program for The University of Texas at Tyler. His
current position as superintendent of Mabank ISD, a 3-A district 45
minutes east of Dallas, keeps him current on the laws and complexities
demanded of the superintendency.
Dr. Marshall has over
25 years of service to Texas school children. Being a current
superintendent, he possesses the innate ability and expertise needed
to recognize characteristics and chemistry vital to a successful
superintendent search.
He and his wife,
Tammye, have been married over 24 years. They are the parents of four
wonderful children. Jordan, 18, Griffin, 15, Landon, 12, and Alden,
9, are all students in the Mabank Independent School District. Four
active school children create a huge challenge for Tammye as a “full
time mom.”

Jim Dunlap
Jim Dunlap, Lead Consultant, is a
veteran educator with over 39 years of experience in Texas public
schools as a janitor, teacher aide, teacher, principal, business
manager, superintendent and education service center staff member.
For eighteen of those years, he served as superintendent in three
outstanding Texas school districts: Diboll, Beckville and
Hallsville. Boards of Trustees in Diboll and in Hallsville nominated
him as Superintendent of the Year, and he was twice selected as
nominee for State Superintendent of the Year from Region 7. He is a
TEA certified board trainer, and has led workshops at service centers
and area universities.
In recent years, he has held a variety of
leadership positions with the Region 7 Education Service Center,
including administrative services division director. His current
position as a part-time Field Service Agent with the Region 7
Education Service Center provides him a special understanding of and a
bond with superintendents and board members. He has also served as
editor of
www.TexasISD.com’s companion electronic newsletter,
The Lone Finalist which is dedicated to keeping Texas
educators current on critical school issues. His wife of 38 years,
Linda, is also a retired school administrator and also worked
half-time at the Region 7 Education Service Center. They are the
proud parents of two wonderful adult children and the two “grandest”
grandchildren ever.
Julius Gordon
Mr. Julius W. Gordon
is a graduate of Huston-Tillotson College, and Prairie View A & M
University, has taken additional graduate level course-work from
Southwest Texas State University and UT Austin. He has been married
for forty years and has two adult children and two grandchildren.
He recently retired
after 30 successful years with the Texas Education Agency, where he
served as Director of School Governance, Equal Educational Opportunity
and Complaints. While there he managed a staff that conducted
investigations, provided technical assistance and specialized
trainings. He is currently Executive Director of Gordon & Associates
and provides consulting services to public schools, charter schools
and education service centers. In his career with TEA, he was
responsible for guaranteeing equal educational opportunities for all
Texas school children. His understanding of diverse communities and
his extensive knowledge of superintendents and promising
administrators not only in Texas but also nationally provides a
greater degree of credibility to your search
